Burmantofts Community Friends (BCF) is a trading name of Burmantofts Senior Action, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) focused on the needs
of people over 55 living in LS9 East Leeds.
BCF has been in operation since 1995 and partners with key stakeholders
such as Leeds City Council and the NHS.
We offer practical support for mental and physical wellbeing with daily activities, information, advocacy, outreach, and support services. We are managed by a board of trustees with representation from the local area.
The charity has 10 key objectives:
● Relieve social isolation and loneliness.
● Identify gaps in provisions for support.
● Support older people to live independently.
● Promote social inclusion for all communities.
● Improve digital inclusion and access to support.
● Try to improve the environment where older people live.
● Be an open and friendly place for local people to drop in.
● Reduce the burden on NHS services with early intervention community care.
● Work with partner organisations who bring additional resources to our area.
● Be a force for good, championing the wishes and needs of older people.
