Activity Support Helper:

What will an Activity Helper do?
Activity helper will provide much needed help for our weekly sessions. This could be welcoming people, setting up session rooms, serving refreshments, playing games and quizzes, supporting people to attend, chatting to people, and making sure they feel comfortable, bits of everything. All the time you will be supported by BCF staff and encouraged to make new friendly relationships with the people we support. We run different sessions Monday to Friday allowing this volunteering to fit around other commitments you may have
What experience do you need?
None, absolutely none. You don’t need to have done anything before, all you need is positive attitude, a willingness to help others and appetite to get stuck in. Everything else we can help you with (promise!).
Tasks and responsibilities
- Attend regular volunteering sessions.
- Help members attending to feel welcome.
- Assist setting up and closing-down the group(s).
- Help serve refreshments, check on members.

Telephone Befriender:

To offer friendship and encouragement, via a telephone call, to a member of BCF who is isolated and lonely.
· To provide a listening ear.
· To facilitate casual conversation and engage with members.
· To build up a relationship with the befriendee, giving them something to look forward to on a weekly basis.
· Calls to last between 10 minutes up to an hour .
What experience do you need?

· To make regular calls.
· To encourage conversation and chatting.
· Work as part of a team, supported by our Volunteer Coordinator.
· Document all calls in a logbook accordingly.

Digital Assistant:

What will the Digital assistant do?
The digital assistant will support social activity for members to receive a hot meal, a drink and the opportunity to meet with their friends for a chat. There will also be a focus on learning about digital technology in a way that is fun and accessible for our members.

- Assisting members with using devices and the internet.
- Answering member questions about technology.
- Assisting with setting up and clearing away.

Travel Companion:

The travel companion volunteer , you will provide invaluable support and assistance to our members with diverse needs during their travel experiences. Your role will involve offering companionship, guidance and practical assistance to ensure a safe, comfortable and enjoyable journey to our members.
Tasks and responsibilities
Accompanying the member throughout the journey.
Helping with luggage, check-ins.
Assistance with mobility.

Interpersonal skills.
